Pumpkin patch!

On opening day of he pumpkin patch at gilcrease orchard my some of my family went to pick some goodies. Pumpkins, squash and apples! YUM! Even though I work nights and don't get off until sometimes 6am (yuck!) I REALLY wanted to go! I haven't been to the orchard since I was a little kid and I remember it was tons of fun!

Well...I didn't wake up...surprise surprise! So Ivy went along with my sister and her kids and my parents and my too yougest brothers.

They had fun, when they went to weigh and pay for all the food they picked they got some apple cider doughnuts freshly made right there! Sounds AMAZING!

I guess the kids were all camera shy, they couldnt get them to corroporate so they could get cute pumpkin patch pictures that we all love )= boo! Brittany went back a few days later with her little family but it was FREEZING so I'm thing another trip is a must! With Ivy, it's my fauly because I didn't bring a cute outfit or hair bow for Ivy...oops!

I was looking at blogs on Sunday and saw this awesome idea on my friend Kelly's blog! Her twin girls just had a birthday and she sat then down and had a little interview with each one of them. Now, it's not Ivy's birthday but I thought this was such an awesome idea! Ivy's growing so fast and she makes me smile everyday with her comments. She's very very silly and says lots of funny things and shes so smart, sometimes she uses words or phrases that make her seem like she is 20 years old! What is your favorite animal? My favorite animal is a graf (giraffe). A baby graf and a mama graf.

What do you love to do? Color crayons and coloring stuff like reading books. I have the one with Minnie and Mickey!!!

Fav food? Fish & crab (LIES!)....Whats your real favorite??? Chicken and salad with dressing.

Candy?!?!? Ducky stuff (Sugar factory candy bag has a rubber ducky on it) and ducky store chocolate.

What is your favorite book? Disneyland, Wizard of Oz book

Favorite thing to do in preschool? Go outside and color (trace) our bodies.

Ivy and my nephew Ezra are doing school with my mom, she used to be a preschool teacher so it works out perfectly! Its crazy how fast kids leran! The other day Ivy was showing me some letters shes been learning.....

On one fun preschool day they had an activity while learing about corn. They got to do some corn husking and then they cooked it. My mom made Ivy a corn husk doll and Ezra an octopus! Really fun!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE DISNEYLAND!!!!!! I was able to go on on a trip with my friend Amber and her family in September and we had tons of fun! THANKS AMBER!!!!! It was my first time leaving Ivy and I think I did pretty well.....I didn't cry AT ALL! That's big for me (= Of course I bought her presents so she was more than happy with the situation.

And we're off!
Driving is not fun...but it went by fast because we were being silly the whole way.

They all got to go to this cool ranch type thing and make didgeridoos! That's defiantly something i'd enjoy!

I'm so glad they had fun and got to experience the many awesome things about Australia, but i'm sure glad they're back!

its weird, but moms seem to always know EVERYTHING! they know when somethings going to happen, or if something is happening in your life...even if your trying to hide it! they just have these crazy feelings or dreams and normally they are always right!

well, my mom called me last week and told me she has been having this feeling for the past week....hmm, what is it?...she swears i am getting married THIS year!

my first thought...HAHAH!

you actually have to talk to boys if you want to ever find one, then you have to get one to like you, than you have to convince one to marry you! im not even dating anyone! after thinking for a while that my mom has fallin off her rocker, i started thinking....what do i want my wedding to be like? hmmmm...i have never been the girl who has always known what she wanted her wedding to like. i am clueless about everything! dress...colors...hair...EVERYTHING! even though i am not going to go on a man hunt, i will start preparing myself so i am ready when i do find "the one."

my birthday is april 16th.....yes, i know, i am VERY behind on this blog!

oh well. i had a great day!!! for starters i moved that morning! BLEH! after moving all morning my friends treated me to a PEDICURE....YAY! my friends are the best!

after that i went to my sister brittanys house. my sister is seriously AMAZING! she does so SOOOO much for me! she got me my favorite...angel food cake with freash strawberries and whipped cream! yummy!!! brit and bren bought me TOMS!!!! i have been wanting toms for a long time! THANX!!!

that night my friends aaron and travis took me to dick's bar for dinner....crazy place!....to say the least! then we went to my work (KOI-club in planet hollywood) my mom worked for me that night...THANX MOM! i really had a great birthday!!! thanks EVERYONE!

I was so excited about Ivy's party this year!!! I put lots of effort and planning into it. I came home from work around 5am! BLEH! and I was beyond tired so I set an early alarm to finish up cleaning and decoraiting....well at 10am (only 2 hours before the party!) I woke up from knocking at my door, it was "the girls" (11 year old twins, close family friends) they were coming over to help make to brownie dipped oreos that I was making rather than cake. I woke up with a KILLER migraine )= I seem to get them at the very wosrt times! Luckily I had lots of help setting up and baking!!!! I was in so much pain that I couldnt see to put my make up on or do much with my hair.....so there were no pictures of me haha (=

When I asked Ivy what she wanted for Christmas besides a dolly she wanted a pillow pet SOOOOO bad! I tried to change the subject or ask her if she like other things because I HATE PILLOW PETS! They are UGLY! And I just cound not see myself spending $20 on a cheap ugly pillow!

My nephew Ezra got a pillow pet for Christmas from his grandparents so I couldnt just avoid them at the store and be ok, she saw Ezra's everyday and wanted one so bad!

Sooo for her birthday I caved, I bought it and it is her favorite thing ever! She always sleeps with it! So I guess my $20 was wisely spent (= Below is a picture of Ivy and Ezras racing their pets!!!

i decided to go to cosmetology school because i looooved doing updos! and i always hoped i could work on the strip and get lots and lots of brides and stuff.

Well a couple weeks ago while at work (i work in a club) i decided that i needed to promote my hairstyling, so i asked almost every girl why they were in town...hoping to find some brides! it was locals night so i would ask he locals if they knew of anyone getting married, i was really trying to get myself out there, obviously! haha. i was getting tired of asking people and getting weird looks back so i stopped asking, but while talking to a local that is good friends with my co-worker i just decided to ask, "hey, do you by chance know anyone whos getting married? I do hair." she replied, "no, but my family owns a wedding chapel." WHAAAAAT!!!! so i pulled up my hair blog (still in the works.....http://awclothes.blogspot.com/.....) and she loved my work!!! so we exchanged information and two days later her husband called me for an interview!.....I GOT IT! it will be extremely part-time right now but im super excited! they have a list of 5 girls that they call for hair and they said i will be there 2nd girl they call, the first girl owns a salon and is very busy so hopefully with v-day coming up we will get some weddings up in here! im still looking for a normal day job with normal people hours, this night thing is taking a huge tole on my body! but i feel sooooooOOOoooOOOooo blessed about this new opportunity!

I realise that I might get shot for saying this....BUT....I LOVE BEDHEAD MAKE UP.....EVEN MORE THAN MAC! There I said it! Its one of the best things that has ever happened to me!

My bomb-A straightener! Its by Joico, its the K-PAK reconstr vapr iron. You put this oil in the top part and the vapors come out and it actually reconstructs your hair! Its amazing! Dont look at my hair because Im cheap so I use the oil VERY sparingly!

My best friend Jen is so awesome! The other day she told me she was bragging about me to somebody, she couldnt remember who she was talking to but she said they were talking about single parenting. She said she was telling them about me and how Im a great mom and how smart Ivy is. That made me feel SOOO GOOD! It made me think a little. I can be VERY hard on myself, I am sure most mothers are like that. I like lots of moms try to be perfect, I wish I was thinner, I wish I could say that I have never given my kid fast food and I make home cooked meals everyday, I wish my hair make up and nail polish was always done...but we arent perfect, we arent supposed to be perfect.

I do work very hard! I am a working mom, I work 7 nights a week. I am also a stay at home mom, Im home with Ivy all day (= Its really great that I can do both! I wont lie, it is exhausting! I dont sleep enough! When I pick Ivy up in the early morning she wakes right up and is ready for breakfast and I am ready for bed.

Jen made me feel so good! Yes, Ivy is smart, I did baby signs with her starting at 6 months old, I work with her a lot and Im always teaching her things. I feel like I am a great mom!!! (= Ivy doesnt want for anything, she isnt missing anything. She is happy and healthy.

Being an LDS single mom is far from easy, I get weird looks all the time! Especially at the sngles ward. Sometimes I think people feel uncomfortable because I am so confidant about being a sinlge mom, I just laugh at them. Like everyone, I have made mistakes, and like most I have learned and I am a stronger person because of them. I refuse to wallow in the past.

I have another friend Anita, who is my moms age she goes to my ward and has been for years, shes practically a member she just needs to quit smoking to get baptized. The other day she told me that part of the RSGC (Relief Society Gossip Circle).....yes I just made that up!.....gossip was going around that I had not been going to church and that I was sleeping at my boyfriends (dont have one) house. Before the lady who was spreading the gossip could even finish Anita cut her off and firmly told her that yes you dont see Ashley at church because she was called as the sunbeam teacher. And she told the ladies that if they want something to gossip about that go find someone else to talk about, "because Ashley has got her head on her shoulders!" BAM! THANK YOU ANITA!!!!

Another friend, Oscar (who actually used to be good friends with my sprem donor but now is my friend because donor is a jerk!) told me once that anyone would be so lucky to have Ivy and I, that really hit me because I have heard a lot of people say that it would take a really good guy to "take on" a girl with a child, I had never heard someone say that he'd be "lucky." Felt good!!!

Im not trying to brag, and definitely not promoting single parenting, I do not plan on staying single forever, I know what I want. When I get married it will be in the temple, one day I will be sealed to my Ivy!!!! (= I am just saying that I am over everyones dummy remarks and stupid looks, I am confidant and I am proud of myself! And that I have wonderful friends!

just days before thanksgiving i heard a knock at my door. I was in my tank top and pj bottoms so i wanted just wait for whoever it was to go away, but ivy had another idea. she ran to the front window yelling with excitment. i heard someone outside say, "oh good your here, i'll go get it...." so opened the door and saw brother fiscus who is one of the counslers of my ward, he had a basket of goodies, following behind him was my bishop with a shopping bag. My ward was more than generous, they brought me everything you would need to make a thankgiving dinner! including a card with a marie calenders gift card inside!

Ok so I work in a club so you can only imagine all the crap I deal with. Drunk people are NUTSO! The other day (well actually a couple months ago) a woman walked into the bathroom and shouted, "I'm a lesbian!" Then she ran into the bathroom to do her business. When she came out she started pointing at other girls and saying, "hot, hot, hot," as if she were playing duck duck goose. I, jokingly asked, "Hey! What about me!" And she ran over and bit and sucked my neck! I mean she jumped on me! YIKES!!! As hard as I tried I could not get her to stop! FINALLY after she stopped and left the bathroom I didnt know whether to laugh, cry, or go get tested for rabies! haha well here is the damage, it definitely doesnt do it justice! I hurt like heck!

A couple of weeks ago after Fhe my friends and I decided it would be fun to drive up to Mtn. Charleston. We definitely picked the wrong day to go...there was no pretty snow )= just ICE! but we didnt let that stop us from having a good time. We still went sledding, I'll admit that I only went once because it was too icey and I scrapped both ancles on the first try but I still had lots of fun sliddng down on my butt.

Wacthing all the maddness on the news used to scares me but ever since the year I was pregnant with Ivy we have made it a tradtion for us girls to go shopping. And its very fun! Ive never gone for a TV or anything crazy thank goodness! Mostly just cheap movies and christmas PJ's. This year I was determined to find a to kitchen for Ivy! While going through the ads I found one I really liked but there was no way in he-- I was going to Toys R Us! So I found another one in the Target ad. It was cheaper but I really wanted a nice wood one since it will be sitting out in my livning room most of the time....but I decided on the talking princess kitchen. Ivy spotted it in the ad on Thanksgiving and kept telling everyone she wanted it, so I know she will LOVE it! our first stop was Old Navy. Its tradition to get new PJ's on Christmas Eve so I bought some for Bren, Aaron and myself (= I also found some cute skinny jeans for $15 that will took cute with boots!!! I hope they fit!....there was no way I was waiting in the dressing room line, NOPE! The line was insainely long! Thank goodness everyone that worked there were SO nice!

second, Brit went home to feed the twins and I headed to Wal-Mart. I thought the kicthen was there so I was sad when I couldnt find it )= until I remembered that it was a Target...opps! So I headed to the cheapo movies. They had a good selection! Lots were only $1.98!!!!

thrid was Target, we got there right before it opened. We were surprised at how long the line was, it seemed to go accross the whole fornt of the store, when we got to the back we realised that it was MUCH longer than that! It went accross the whole fornt and then along side of the store! GEEPERS! Once it opened the line moved along quickly. The people were feirce! They pushed and shoved anyone or anything in the way! I saw an older lady get bumped with a cart and I was like aww sad but then she gave a butt head remark so I didnt feel as bad for her. I took Ivy to the Springs Preserve a couple days before Halloween, shes enjoyed it very much! They had lots of fun games and trick-or-treating but Ivy's favorite was when a local kids dance studio put on a really cool show. It was a freak circus show. The kids were really good singers/dancers. Ivy tried to sneak onto the stage a couple times hahaha (=
She was very afraid of some of the costumes but she saw someone dresses as Elmo and she freaked (with excitement!!!) she begged me to take her to him and I couldn't see where he had gone so I started heading toward the trick-or-tricking spots to hopefully get her to forget about Elmo. But she wouldn't let it go, the whole time we were walking she was calling for Elmo. I spotted a little boy with an Elmo costume on but she was not satisfied. Finally I was able to distract her at at the end of the night she did get to see Elmo (not the same one) again....oh joy!

My friend Nick and I work together so we thought it would be cool to dress up together.....it needed to be low budget but not SUPER lame. I dicided to be a widow, a widow that killed her husband. These pictures are from the night before Halloween, everyone at work dressed for the two nights before Halloween and obiously Halloween night.

Halloween night was very chill for Ivy and I this year. I had planned on hitting up as many houses as possible....so we could get LOTS of CANDY!!! We went near Rhodes Ranch where my sisters best friend lives. About 3 mins before we got there Ivy fell asleep! So I stopped at KFC and tried to get her to wake up and be happy! Its worked!....after a while. So we got there and Ivy was pretty nervous about going up to random peoples houses, which is good I guess. But she'd wake to the door, knock, then turn around and say, "no ones home," and run away (= she got scared at alot of the decorations too. She was VERY good at her "trick-or-treats!" and her, "thank yous!"

So we werent moving at the pace I had planned on so I just decided to chill out and take it easy, she was having fun so the candy was not as important. We went down aout 1 1/2 streets before Ivy told me she had to go potty, luckily we were on the same street were Karen (brits best friend) lived. So we stopped by and asked to use the restroom. They invited us to stay and sit for a while......we ended up staying over an hour, Ivy was having so much fun and I was enjoying sitting back and enjoying the company. I work 7 nights a week so I get TIRED! To say the least (= I had to get going because I had work later that night so David (Karen's husband) said they wanted to be Ivy's last house to go trick-or-tricking at. So they had Ivy and I go outside and knock again, Karens gave Ivy probably ten handfuls of candy! WOW we didnt need to go to anymore houses anyway! After we left there I took Ivy to Brittany's for bed and I went to work. What a great Halloween it was (=

I had lots of fun planning Brittany's baby shower, the color theme was pink, blue and brown. I wish I had gotten more pictures of the decorations and everything but oh well. Since I got off of work at 4:30am I decided to not go to sleep because the shower started at 10:00am......BAD IDEA! I was soooo tired! But it was very fun and my sister and mom helped a lot with the decorations and games. And my aunt was amazing! She cooked all the waffles, THANK YOU!!!!

We were able to get everyone (thats in America) minus Aaron and Bren together on the third of July, which is difficult because we all work crazy hours. We spent the day in the pool, it was VERY refreshing!!!! My mom made shrimp cocktails and I brought some snacks to share. Wonderful day!!! Ivy slept most of the day so the picture I did get wasnt the best.

These past couple of months have been insainley busy, (hence the lack of blog postage) I have been work pretty much nonstop. Here is what my week looks like.

Monday-day job from 9am-2ish pm
....night job from 6pm-2am(now its tuesday)...nap in my car and back to my night job at 5:30am-8:30am....drive straight to my day job at 9am-2pm....then back to my night job at 6pm-2am.(now its wed)day job 9am-2pm...night job 6pm-2am. (now its thursday) day job from 9am-2pm....only on call thurs night.
friday- day job 9am-2pm...on call for 6pm-2am(saturday) shift....and back to work at my "night job" at 5:30am until 10:30am...no day job on sat....on call for my night job from 6pm-2am and back to work from 5:30am-10:30am like on friday.....sunday i get off at 10:30am and have the rest of the day off...

confusing???? I KNOW! i never know what day it is...its all just a big blurr to me.

Last Friday we found out the the school district was going to cut the choir program from Durango High. Everyone was crushed, choir has made us all into who we are today, it gave us motivation to go to school and do well. The students sent a letter to the Governor and...IT WORKED! The choir was saved! YAY!!!!
We were on news 5, 8, 13 and a Spanish channel.

20 MONTHS!!!!

It seems like Ivy has always been around but at the same time like time is flying by.

She is sooooo polite! Before we eat she always says, "blessing" and she folds her arms for the prayer. (=

When someone sneezes she either says thank you or bless you, or both haha.

Every time someone gets hurt she comes up with her arms open for a hug and says sorry.

Everyday after work when I knock on the door I love to hear her call for me. She gets so excited! I hate leaving for work :/ I call her at lease once everyday while I'm at work.

Her new thing is animal sounds, so far she know what the dog, cat, cow, horse, fish and bear say (=

She has not had any problems in nursery, in fact I spend half the class time in the hall looking through the peek hole. haha she does great!

Brennan, Ivy, Anita (our friend) and I went up to Utah for our best friends wedding, we had a great time. We drove up Thursday, Friday we got to do a lot of site seeing. Anita had never been past Ceder city so we took her to temple square. We had sooo much fun! Ivy loved the Christus...well we all did but Ivy was amazed by it! At home and at church I always ask her where Jesus is and she will walk over and point to his picture, its so cool! So I'm sure seeing this 11 foot statue of Christ was soooo awesome to her! She wouldnt leave the statue, I'd walk over to get her and she'd walk right back, so after a few attempts I let her be. It seemed that everyone there enjoyed seeing her pointing at it and saying, "Jesus, Jesus!"

After we left Salt Lake we went to the Mayan for dinner. I had been there before and I wanted Anita to see it. They have cool clif divers and its a fun atmosphere...Ivy was a little scared though. After dinner we took some fun pictures and then it started POURING!!!!!! Like CRAZY!
Later Friday night we went to Provo to see our friend Dave!!! It had been over two years so it was great to see him!!! We watched StarTrek at the dollar theater.

Ivy was AMAZING the whole trip, she was silent in the car! I'm so lucky to have such a great traveler! Brennan kept her entertained with her MANY bracelets and exciting jewelery!!!

Of course the highlight of the trip was seeing Jen! She looked amazing! We went to the temple and it was pouring rain again! But it cleared up just in time for her pictures!!! It was still cold (55 degrees!) though. Bren and I got to spend some time with Jen before the reception because we fixed her hair, that was so fun! We can't wait to do it all over again this weekend at her Vegas open house!!!! (=

Over a month ago my sister and I found a bunny that had been a banded.....so we saved it!!! (= there was another one (that we know of) who had been hit by a car. It was very obvious that they were pets and they didnt know how to live in the "wild." I named her bugs (bunny) my younger siblings all had a different name for her. A couple weeks ago we decided that with everyone moving we could no longer keep her )= so we found a nice family for her! The day that she had to go was very hard on the kids, especially Alan! My mom took everyone to the Springs Preserve but Alan decided to stay home and play with the bunny before she had to go.
He was such a strong boy that day! He came with me to meet the lady who would take the bunny.
We waited for over an hour for the lady to show and finally she called...turns out she had been waiting in the wrong parking lot the whole time! So she drove over and took her, I wish she would have been nicer and more considerate about Alan's feelings but she just grabbed here, said thank you and left! Didn't offer to let him hold her and say goodbye! B WORD! O well I'm sure they are great, they were just anxious.

Ivy is 19 months today! Its so crazy how much she has changed! Her vocabulary has literally doubled within the last minth! She is putting more words together and other people can actually understand her (=

Shes likes to ask where her uncle Andrew is, but she calls him something else, Its a weird noise that I can't even attempt to spell out haha. Ivy is always copying the things I do, EVERY TIME I finish someones hair she climbs up on the chair and pulls the cape over her and says, "hair, hair." Or she'll grab a brush or comb and do someone else's hair.

I tried Brennan's clip in extensions yesterday to see how they looked, the color actually almost matched! My hair is at such an awkward length right now so I'm thinking of getting some extensions. Bren does custom clip-in extensions which is prefect for me right now! I need something easy. Some people have asked...YES! My family is moving to Australia. My dad is leaving next week and my mom, Bethany, Alan & Andrew will leave either August or Sept. My dad was got a chiropractic job up there. This will be a HUGE change for us! We have such a close family, we do everything together! We went to the Lied Discovery museum today!!! It was Ivy's first time and I had heard that it had been re-done and had lots of improvements. My brothers have been participating in a reading challenge at the library and they get prizes for the amount of books they read, they picked museum passes as their prizes and they gave me one to use for Ivy. My family went up to Provo last week which left Ivy and I here all by ourselves. I know I'm going to have a hard time when they leave for Australia! We did have a pretty good week though. My grandma used to help us make hand shaped sugar cookies every Christmas and we would have so much fun decorating them.....I found out after we made ours that we didnt have any decorating stuff, well at least not that I could find, so ours werent that great (=

its been a while....i need to let ALL my followers (all 2 of them) know what i have been up to!!! ( ;

TEMPLE-....NO, havent gone yet. when i went in to meet with the stake pres. he said i was too young and then he asked me to come back a few days later so he could talk to my bishop. so i did, and when i came back he said he wanted me to go though (if my new bishop thought i was ready) with my new stake. so thats where im at now. once my records are transferred i will go to my new bishop.......to be honest i felt like my old one didnt want to deal with me, but oh well. IM GOING THERE SOMEDAY! someday soon (= and i cant wait!!!!!

Job-I NEED ONE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BADLY! please let me know if you know of anything!!! i have to move out in a month...but im not even working :/ i love working the catering job i have!!! i helped at a party on sat. i considered it my first real catering job cos its not just serving hot lunchs, which i do enjoy too, but i had a blast!

Ivy-is 17 1/2 months! uh...WHAT!?!?! yep! she and i have this mommy toddler thing we do....we both say "I....." then i say "love..." and she goes, "YOU!" its so cute I LOVE HER I LOVE HER I LOVE HER!!!

The girl I consider like my best girlfriend is getting MARRIED!!!! i love her and am super super happy for her!!! she deserves great guy and i have heard nothing but good about him!

I am moving out on June 14th!!! During the summer I am planning on babysitting a couple of kids....only problem, I NEED kids to watch! I charge from 5-9 an hour depending on different situations and how many kids. Please let me know if you will be needing a babysitter at all this summer. (=

Bethany's school put on a play about the children in the concentration camps during the holocaust. It turned out AMAZING! I was actually pretty surprised because its a middle school play but it made everyone cry. The play was written using mostly journal entry's found hidden in the camps. Bethany got to work the sound and spotlight and she did a great job!!!

After the 5k this morning we went to Brittany's to rest then we went back to TS mall...they had a free ice cream social thing....I really wasn't anything exciting. Here is Ivy with her first ice cream sandwich. hehe We saw a HUGE dog and had to take a picture....if you can't tell....this dog is taller than my stroller! DANG!

Brittany, Ezra, Ivy and I did our 1st 5k today!!!! It was pretty good. Its nothing huge, but its a first and definitely not last for us! We got to the Town Square mall a little after 8am, registered and looked around at the booths for a while. It was fun. Lots of cool things to see. Then we started....I was right behind my old Weight Watchers leader...luckily she didn't recognize me! haha. We kept a pretty fast pace, walked and jogged (mostly power walked). This is us at the finish!!!

Brittany won a free membership to this met up group....?.... (=

At the end of the race Wal-mart was trying to give away all the left over water, granola bars, and bananas....we aren't trying to be pigs but they said they needed it gone... (=

On April 16th I hit the big 2-2!!!! Crazy! Brittany told me she felt so old at 22, she said it felt so much older then 21.....I didn't think that until she said it and then I was like WHOA!...22 does feel OLD!!! I'm an older unmarried maiden hahaha! (= JK I love where my life is right now!!!

April 16th (my birthday (:) my brother Aaron had an all day honor choir thing...I didn't know it was anything big....but I guess it was auditions for all state and HE WON!!! "Command performance," basically saying he is the best male singer in the sate of Nevada...WOW!!! Go Aaron!
